Ok, I sold some TEX (300shs) today to buy SLCA.....major play on fracking, a bit pricey but long term this thing could be a monster......James any thoughts?

    • lol sorry I don't do mining companies! not that I can't value them but they just take too much time. If someone wants to pay me I could do an excellent mining valuation.

Why would you sell any TEX for a piece of #$%$ mining company. TEX business is simple Mining companies are complex. I don't really understand why u would switch something when TEX has amazing growth prospects easily better than any speculative play and TEX has the benefit of not being speculative while trading at a speculative price.

And you bought a speculative company likely trading at a premium price. But ya I didn't look at their finances cuz u can't really do it the same way for mining Cos. If their net income was $0 but had huge reserves they would have value. So I can't quickly look at it and get a quick value

      • I still hold 1500 shs of TEX, that is the majority of my portfolio, SLCA is a very interesting story, if you are following the oil boom in ND then you will know why. Fracking for oil and nat gas is huge, saying it will make us energy independent, SLCA provides the minerals taht are used in fracking.....long term I see this company becoming a monster, so much demand for oil and nat gas is right around the corner.....I still love TEX but I really like this company and believe ity will be a multibagger when all is said and done.

        Sentiment: Strong Buy
