    It's not about a bailout

it's about maintaining trust in the illusion of the economic structure as we know it.

It's not about republicans or democrats. It's not about wall street or main street. It's about whether or not you want to wake up one morning in the very near future and find out everything you have vested your life into being a norm, such as filling your gas tank on the way to work with a credit card, continues to exist.

This "bailout" package is just the first step in a long hard road back to normal. You and I and everyone else who participates in the present economic system will have to re-learn how to be fiscally responsible adults.

It won't be an easy road for the next few years. Baby boomers are going to have to come to terms thaqt there is no ssuch thing as retirement coming down the road for them at 65, or 67 or 83. They already took their retirement years. First our parents paid for our early retirement years of the 60's and 70's. Then we discovered we could leverage our lives into the new milenia. Now we have to pay the bill.

But first we need some meatball surgery to stop the bleeding. Let's see if we can all finally learn to be responsible people after this and stop living lives of instatnt gratification.

      • Pendulums swing! The Socialist extreme held sway until the 80's began, now it may be the pendulum swung too far the other way and government control is what we have to look forward to for the next 20 years.

Who knows who's right or wrong on this, I just want to have food to eat and a currency I can buy the stuff with come next week. I'm too old to go rummaging through garbage dumps looking for food.

You do understand the consequences if this doesn't get fixed soon, don't you? Personally! I don't care who's fault it is, I just know the problem is here and it has to get fixed fast. We can fine tune it later.

    • Oh, poo on U. It's Wall St, and the idiots in DC that need the lecture on austerity and prudence.

Take your soap box to Wall St. & Congress.

      • Hey kid! It's up to you. Get on board with getting the old farts of my generation to change their ways, or you can pay the bill after we're gone. Do you like seeing Ukraine in the position it's in?

But let's see--you're connected to Subic Bay and Kiev. Exactly what business are you in? Or more precisely, what local resources do you exploit? Wouldn't be one of those businesses where the worst the economics the more resources become available for you to sell?

Maybe your name should be TricksMaster or SaltAndPepperTrader!
