I would be first to admit i dont understand the market enough to trade adm short term. but if one take the long term the sentiment is for a buy. If there is any buy and hold in the market left its adm. Of course they might have a weak year but long term the fundamentals are great.
I would call it a weak sell based upon the strong runup in the DJIA as of monday. It has dropped about 5% off the highs already though in the past 3 days so I'm neutral right now. I doubt it will continue to fall below 30 but if it does I'd call it a buy.
I would never call a technical retracement opportunity a "strong sell". I can't time markets and I doubt anyone on this message board can either. Trying to guess the time of a retracement is comparable to gambling.
I invest based on strong/weak underlying fundamentals. ADM has strong fundamentals currently. Commercial real estate has weak fundamentals. Short FR or CUZ if you want a hot short candidate. I would call those strong sells.
I'm not sure that you should be saying that ADM is a strong sell. You have been saying that ADM was a sell since it was at $28 +/-.
I would not be surprised to see ADM drop into the $29 range and then run back up to the conference call on Aug. 4th. If ADM actually has something positive to say, and they haven't found yet another creative way to say they spent all of their earnings, then ADM should start its march to $35 or higher.
Howeven, at this point ADM simply in not a "strong Sell".
Susan, there is a little known feature of the Yahoo boards called the ignore setting, which you will find under my nickname if you open my messages. This will enable you to read this board in ignorant bliss by filtering out all messages posted by me.
But in all seriousness, I am a short seller at the moment which means I believe the stock will decline in the near future, as opposed to those who are "long" who believe it will rise. Others care only about the dividend payout and are longer term investors, and of course who would also like to see the stock rise.
My posts are about things going on that aren't too pretty its true, but may affect the direction of the stock price. That is the nature of the economy that we are in. I am not wishing for it to get worse, quite the contrary. It saddens me to see folks suffering such as the dairy farmers I wrote about earlier. I am very sympathetic to the plight of all of our farmers. I am simply posting it like I see it and there are many more posting happy talk so take your pick and believe what you like, but don't assume for a minute that I will disappear because you don't like hearing bad news... unless of course you choose to put me on ignore.
