I came away from listening to the presentation impressed with the advanced packing part of the company. As for LSA, it really sounds impressive but I have no clue as to when they will ever make any money from it. I am starting to doubt that it will happen in 2007. They expect some more LSA orders before the end of this quarter and I thought they said they will revenue 2 or 3 LSA this quarter, but one is from 2004 and the margins were around 20 percent. Art Z. said they have assembled the best team of experts in reflective optics of any semi-equipment company. In my opinion, with an enterprise value of around $200 million, it seems to me that the AP part of the company may be worth nearly that much. That means LSA is almost free. I kind of wish they would spin it off and concentrate on Advanced Packaging, but I know Art Z. and company really believe in LSA. The statistics they present seems to suggest that LSA has great potential. Just might have to give it another year or two. I will say this. Art Z. and company really have turned the company around from what it was a few years back. I'm impressed with them and really believe that they are sincere in wanting to provide a good return for investors. (just my opinion.)
Investing in high tech is always a risk. The above is posted from memory. I could easily have made a mistake or heard incorrectly. I have quoted nothing from the presentation. Some things I may have been taken out-of-context. I would not use any of the above to make any investment decision. Like I said, UTEK is high-tech and what they sell today could be obsolete next week.
