Are longs confident that the acquisition will go through? There is some conjecture that PBTH shareholders will vote against the merger in hope of getting 1.5 shares of OPK for every 1 share of PBTH instead of .995. TIA
I'm very confident the merger will go through. It has been endorsed by all of the major stockholders, including Dr. Frost. Add in the the people like me that have been buying PBTH to get OPK. I already turned in my proxy voting for the merger.
Have not heard that one. I have read where OPKO's presence internationally, especially the U.S., will help with the Prolor's reach which is why the board at Prolor approved the sale. I am exited about this acquisition and have not reason to believe the deal will not take place.
"We believe this transaction recognizes the value we have created at PROLOR and provides our shareholders with attractive economic terms, as well as the opportunity to continue to share in the success of the combined company," commented Shai Novik, President of PROLOR. "We believe that OPKO's track record of commitment to innovation and growth, along with its diversified portfolio of innovative therapeutic and diagnostic products, growing international presence, ongoing investments in commercial infrastructure and highly experienced management team make this combination an excellent fit for PROLOR."
I've been buying mostly Prolor, for the last month.. It would be really stupid of the S H 'ers to turn this deal down, but it's certainly possible./ If I was more sure of it going, I would have sold all the Opie and bought all Prolor. Only time will tell.
