Not sure why this is not more well known or announced by company, but Omnipod is supposed to now have wireless connectivity to the PC. We are supposed to be receiving the wireless "dongle" and software in a couple of days. Its limited to windows XP however, and sounds like an excel based system.
That will open the platform much further than it is today, in terms of features and usability for the average individual.
Ultimately, I envision that the devices will be connected back to the clinic to allow docs/nurses to monitor therapy remotely. They will have most of the info they need (glucose values, IC ratios, correction factors, insulin duration, etc) to be able to remotely look at patients. Medtronic has been developing their carelink platform for some time in this regard.
