I am a podd user as well. This product is significantlly better than anything on the market today. Way easier to put the pod on than priming a pump and inserting the canula. The PDM is very intuitive and makes bolusing easy and accurate. My A1C dropped a point after going on the podd. This company is going to take off.
it seems to me the stock run-up may be attributed to the problems announced with insulin inhalers. Do you thinks some diabetics were waiting to adapt new tech like PODDs because they were holding out/waiting for inhaled insulin as the next big solution? Do diabetics now get re-focused on presently available solutions and therefore maybe more adapt to PODDs? That would be my guess.....but i have to think the recent run-up in PODD is because someone knew in advance the problems with i.i. Short-term maybe the stock over-extended, but long run great prospects.....Would not be surprised to hear Cramer mention at some time in the future.
Inhaled insulin is not a viable solution for Type 1 diabetics. To get the same results as the podd one would have to inhale insulin every hour. I know of no other product that is even close as far as ease of use, effectiveness and discreteness.
