ALU is up 23% in January as was signaled by:
* I Know First algorithmic system* last December.
** J.P. Morgan** and WSJ are also positive on ALU.
For more than six months, the high-technology sector has been on a strong rebound, with Oracle (ORCL), Hewlett-Packard (HPQ), Cisco Systems (CSCO), and Alcatel-Lucent (ALU) gaining anywhere from 10 to 40 percent.

ALU is definitely risky, but with new management starting in April, I believe ALU has the ability to turn over a new egg. The competition is intense in the market; however, due to increasing demand for data services and networking equipment, there is also attractive opportunity available. Alcatel-Lucent shareholders will have to be patient and see what the new leadership has in mind. If the new CEO is able to present a clear plan and implements it successfully; Alcatel-Lucent might reach its previous heights.
Your strategy is based on hope that the new CEO will do miracle! INVESTORS DO NOT HOPE!
ALU has had 3 CEO's since the merger and both have tried to cut expenses.
BOTH were unsuccessful! Why hope that Combes will do miracle???
Altitude Software, a leader in unified customer interaction solutions, today announced it has signed an agreement with Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise to be the strategic provider of key software solutions for Alcatel-Lucent's next generation customer service solutions for the enterprise market.
China Mobile deal: CHL announcing it forecasts a 49% year over year increase in capital expenditures in 2013 to $30.6 billion.
Furthermore, Vodafone's and France Telecom's plans to build a fiber network in recession-hit Spain might be a catalyst for the stock as well. Moreover, ALU's cash flow worries seem to be well behind it at this point.
I like the stock here.
