Voice of Russia:
Some 50,000 households in the German city of Wolfsburg, Lower Saxony, were left without electricity because technical malfunction occurred at a local substation earlier today.
This came in a statement by an official of the city administration press service, Dennis Weilmann.
Four power generators at the local Volkswagen plant were switched off as a result, causing the plant to grind to a halt. The assembly lines were disconnected and a football match between the local club Wolfsburg and Bavaria of Munich, scheduled for today, was at risk. But Weilmann says that power has already been restored to the stadium, near the car plant, so the game is due to be played on schedule.
