Just got the latest news on the Journal merging with Scripps.
What do you people out there feel? Personally I feel this should have been done a year ago. Do your homework and let us know what you think. I woud have hoped that they would have merged with a larger company. The Journal is really a minority player now. And there is still that A and B share business like the Journal. We can only hope that their mangement is better than the Journal's. And that would not take much,
i think u r correct!
This should have happened several years ago, however it starting to stimulate optimism with this POS.
Scripps shareholders are getting a cash divi.
Smith has to bring back the dividend to get real players involved .
Smith is gone, thank God. He is out of the picture. Scripps will be calling the shots.
As for that $60,000 million dividend that they will be getting, that is what they are getting for those newspapers. That is like a tip to a bartender. That shows what they thought of those newspapers.
As for any chance of getting a dividend: Don't hold your breath. This industry is just getting sorted out. And there is going to be winners and losers here. Keep your fingers crossed. Nobody said that investing was going to be boring.
