There are 172 stores listed on the apple site. That means about 15% sold out. I think they are kicking butt. Flash memory costs have decreased which is their biggest cost per iphone. i.e. good margins even at $399/phone plus att revenue sharing and a few ringtones and songs sold on each phone. No significant problems with ANY of their products. New Apple stores have opened in the last few months. Wait until the Touch hits its official release date of 9-28. I'm thinking 1.2 million iphones sold since launch overall. 2.17 million was an estimate on the macs and last 1/4 they were at 1.76. That would be a 23% increase over last 1/4. If the earnings make the same % move for ipods too, then we are looking at EPS of $1.12 PLUS factor in at least an additional $0.05 for a quarter of profits from iphone. $1.17!!! A 42% earnings surpprise! Maybe we can hit a PE of 78 like that fat RIMM.
