Let all negative sentiment out and then hit it with a sledge hammer - announce stock aplit, cash dividend on the top of blow out earnings and margins, taking AAPL to new high, instatntly creating short squeeze.
Market rarely follows what conventional herd thinks. I have a feeling good earnings report with strong outlook on profits and margins combined with less onerous news on Jobs' health (and of course, stock split or cash dividend announcement both demonstrating AAPL's confidence in the future) could trap short sellers. Always think of unthinkable in the market - just as this Jobs health news came from no where, positive news could come from no where too. Market behavior is never so predictable and neat as most people on this Board are predicting.
