On April 25 and 26, Robert J. Mansfield, senior vice president, sold 38,863 shares of Apple (NYSE: AAPL - News) for $351.89 each, totaling $13.7 million.
This is his first transaction this year at the technology firm. On Oct. 21, 2010, Mansfield exercised options and sold 40,000 shares for $12.3 million, an average of $308 each.
With this most recent transaction, Mansfield reduced his holdings by more than 98% to 501 directly held shares.
Mansfield is senior VP of the company's Hardware Engineering division. He joined Apple in 1999 as vice president of Development Engineering and assumed his present position in May 2008.
Apple did not respond to a phone call seeking comment.
Yes, I agree. He is selling now and will buy Apple at a lower price. That is exactly what everyone here should be doing too.
