SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Google Inc. said Thursday afternoon that its newly acquired Motorola Mobility unit had revenue of $1.25 billion for the second quarter. That represents a drop of 62% from the $3.3 billion in revenues that Motorola reported in last year's second quarter - before it was acquired by Google GOOG +1.86% . The mobile device unit had revenues of $843 million in the second quarter, down sharply from $2.4 billion in the same period last year. The Motorola wireless device business generated an operating loss of $192 million for the second quarter compared to $85 million in the same period last year.
LOL so how is the 12.5 billion MMI doing down 62% from a year ago? What is the plan here to sell phones ? when they give Android away for free with direct phone makers...samsung, HTC, LG.....plus.........sounds like a mess to me......I guess I am missing something with Goog up so much after hours
