SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Google Inc. said Thursday afternoon that its newly acquired Motorola Mobility unit had revenue of $1.25 billion for the second quarter. That represents a drop of 62% from the $3.3 billion in revenues that Motorola reported in last year's second quarter - before it was acquired by Google GOOG +1.86% . The mobile device unit had revenues of $843 million in the second quarter, down sharply from $2.4 billion in the same period last year. The Motorola wireless device business generated an operating loss of $192 million for the second quarter compared to $85 million in the same period last year.
