Verdict is biased and outrageous!
Tell me the jury being in the heart of Apple country did not play a factor in the decision. The Galaxy is bigger, better and cheaper than the iphone and everyone loses if some biased jury tries to give Apple a monopoly on rectangular smartphone devices. This will never hold up and we can pray that in the end Apple will be defeated. Apple wins and nothing can stop them from price gouging consumers. Maybe some idiots like paying double what they need to for electronics, but most would rather buy a better product at a lower price. I am boycotting all Apple products until they agree to compete fairly in the marketplace. If I can't have a Galaxy, I will go back to Blackberry if I have to.

More like Apple uses a California jury to be able to steal and profit from the American consumer. Mark ups on Apple products are price gouging. Nothing is more American than fair and open competition.

Er, did you miss the part about Samsung willfully violating Apple;s copy write, and Apple not infringing on any of Samsung's patents. Maybe you should look for a career as a Korean Olympic coach or sports official. Your interpretations of fair might find acceptance there.

My Father worked in the semi industry and has said for decades that this is all Samsung does.They and others take what we create ...copy it..make it cheaper and sell it for less.Thats all they do.Do customers benefit from this yes because its cheaper but is it right or fair to the creator..HELL NO.I am a customer and alwasy want things for less but i know if i made something and another basically copied it ..made it cheaper and sold it for less..i would be mad as hell.They just copy ...make it cheaper and sell it for less.It needs to be stoped.No one would like that if it was them being ripped off.

Market place is fair...just make your OWN phone and if its better and cheaper people will buy it..No one disagrees with that.However, you take aapls phone , call it some other name..make it cheaper and sell it for less?? well thats bull#$%^ and if you were honest with yourself, if you were aapl...you would do the same thing.

The problem isn't the jury, it is the Patent office (and all the lawyers and companies pressuring the US Patent Office to patent the damdest things. About 15 years ago, the Rock'n Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland threatened to sue a photographer because it said it had the rights to the profile of Hall of Fame -- talk about patenting and copyrights run amok . . .

Information just in is that the jury didn't follow the law or instructions. Didn't consider prior art because they didn't want to. Wanted to punish Samsung with a fine which is against the law. Poor ignorant sheep. This is what is whong with the legal system. Then judge Koh facilitated the rape. Apple is in trouble on this one. It will be a painfull reversal. 1: read the details. Samesung copied even very minute details. If they had gotten away with it, there would be nothing stopping them or anyone from waiting for apple to innovate (and they do innovate) and then copying every detail.

They copied everything, down to the power inverters you use to charge them, and even the packaging. Korea, like a lot of Asia, has a culture of counterfeiting and patent infringement of U.S. intellectual property. Sam-dung probably might have really believed that they did nothing wrong because copying/counterfeiting is just a normal way of doing business there.
