    Last of it

Under Tim Cook leadership Apple started to focus on fattening its margins and profits instead of delivering products that take the least effort to use. If Tim Cook had the PLE as the guiding principle he would never allow Apple Maps to replace Google Maps.

But Tim Cooks is absolutely brilliant in his own way: like no one else he can see how all supplies come together to streamline the production, tinker spreadsheets to improve the bottom line. But he just can't feel the product. He can't grasp what consumers wanted yesterday let alone what they will want tomorrow.

So he focuses on profits, margins and other spread sheet statistics while the competitors are catching up. In fact, the competition is increasingly relying on the unity of the hardware and the software (thePUSH) to deliver the products that take the least effort to use (the PLE).
