Considering getting out for good
Beginning to feel this is no longer a good stock or company to trade. They are moving the stock in spurts, $40 a day up or down. If you are not prepared with powder those very few hours it rallies, you are SOL. Plus they buy in the PreMarket and sell in the day creating an impossible situation if you are long calls or long puts. The premiums stay down while the stock mysteriously creeps up or down. #$%$ rigged game, both ways.

Unfortunately, this stock and others with weekly options are hedge fund favorites!! Until the SEC gets serious (have necessary tools) about preventing bot and options related stock "manipulation", those with the power, $$ and privilege will continue to do so. They have no reason to stop. GREED rules and they will keep manipulating the price of a stock to whereever they need to move it to rig the options market and gain plenty of profit while doing it.

That was a thoughtful response. Thanks. This board really sucks. I don't need any one to agree with me. But most people here are out to call each other names and rub your frustrations or losses into your face. The message board is meant o be the exact opposite of that. I wonder if many of these people every trade?

Yes, I learned this quickly. I've been making money by staying on both sides of the trade. Need to be long calls AND puts, not one or the other. The weeklies are useless unless you're an options writer so stick to monthly expirations.- 1 Reply to going_broke_fast

I have been doing straddles all last year and till June this year. Then for some reason I cannot fathom I took my put position out in Sept and got nailed. After that is history.

I am in...been long and staying long for a long time to come. I believe in the aapl growth story. And, I believe you would have to look far and wide to find a better company with better financials and better growth prospects. So, my investment dollars are in what I can understand and believe in...Apple.

I have no problems with the company. I own many apple products. And have been long since $300. It's just that lately the action has sucked. I don't see any fundamental reason for the stinking action. But this feels it could whip up and down and kill you. Maybe it's too late in the stock curve to trade this. It might take a year or two for this action to stabilize.
