Apple CEO Tim Cook's Day In New York With NBC's Brian Williams To Air Dec. 6

Tim Cook spent the day today with NBC’s Brian Williams in New York, who noted that Apple‘s CEO walked through Grand Central Station “all but unrecognized” until he entered the Apple store there. Williams said he will air the in-depth interview with Cook on Dec. 6 on his ’Rock Center’ news show.

It will be the first television interview with Cook since he took over as CEO from Steve Jobs in August 2011. And it will be the first interview since he led a management shakeup in October that led to the ouster of longtime iOS software chief Scott Forstall over his handling of the much-maligned Maps app in iOS 6 for the iPhone and iPad.

While Cook has spoken at Apple’s product launches over the past year, as well as at the company’s developers conference, an investor conference and at the AllThingsD conference earlier this year, he has granted many one-on-one interviews with reporters. NBC is promoting the interview on its site, and Apple blogs are sharing photos of Cook and Williams, who toured Apple’s store and got demos of the iPhone and iPad mini from Apple’s chief.
