With sam hitting new highs this week and aapl falling into a bear mkt level, why would any sane investor
think that aapl is ever going to be dominant in smart phones. They're products aren't technically well
designed in that they don't have cutting edge tech and lack key tech like lte in major mkts like Europe.
I'm quite happy with my mot tablet it's definately not the throw away device cook says.
Really we've seen this movie before when the evil empire went public. You could have bought the line
that Sculley would make aapl the dominant player as they will win the look and feel law suits. But that
never happened. Nor will it happen in smart phones with same having 70% that can only go higher
and at some point when they sell the majority of smart phones developers will start question the roi
off making apps for idot phones.
SAM is already in TV's in a major way and leading in the use of next generation tech in that space.
Point is while the syrian was still alive the media felt pressured to spin that aapl was a tech innovator
which it wasn't nor is now (competitors' devices had 3g before idot phone, etc) and the design justified
an out of line price premium. The consumers are starting to get wise and have voted with their dollars
that sam is the better choice. This trend and andriod in everything will only get bigger. aapl never
learned the most important lesson consumers reject closed mkts every time. That what nearly
caused them to go nearly bk in the 90's.
My Samsung, which Att talked me out of buying an Apple 4 has crashed. Family members, other than myself have 4's. They are supperior to Samsung. I asked Samsung if they could fix it. It would cost as much as the 5. So for $199.99, with a two year contract
I now have a phone that is better than the 4 or Samsung. I love it.
Now family members want a 5.
Bought two today as xmas presents for those off their 4 contract with att.
They have bugged me after seeing my 5. I don't #$%$ like some on this board.
