Hi, I have a comment to make about the whole Maps fiasco as of late

before I begin with my thoughts, I have one disclaimer to mention and that is I am long on apple ,
now that being said, let me continue with what I want to say.
I do not use Maps often for directions. I own a vehicle and I travel just like other people do and rarely I need to use map service. When the time comes for using maps service to find my location where I'm going to, usually I enter it in my car's media center or satellite and there I am. Now that being said , I don't want to sound like I don't care for the Apple Maps app to be 100% , it's just that so much noise out there about the app not being as good as some other Map app that it begins to sound as if that is the one and only software app that Apple is relying on to make a buck. I have news for you , It is NOT. Look here people , we have something like over six Billion people on this planet and one or two got lost somewhere in the jungle or forest and therefore all of a sudden Apple is not worth investing in at these levels , even though it has retraced more than 25% from it's high of $705 to $505 . Has Apple done anything right other than Maps? hum ..I wonder have they ? Well of course they have. I am usoing an Imac to write this post, I traded in my blackberry for an Iphone, I have upgraded my laptop from Acer to Macbook Pro, and have bought an Ipad for my wife, not to mention my daughter is about to get an Ipad Mini for her birthday in Dec. I know what you're thinking
now , Oh this guy must be rich right? well I am not rich , at least not by American standards. However when it comes to buying electronics we insist on having the best out there. Like many other people , we believe Apple makes the best in the categories mentioned above. Now going back to Maps and Apple, Let me say this with caution, that I wouldn't be surprised if there was something personal brewing with the people charged with Maps project at Apple, and because they didn't get their way on some decision went on to sabotage it. Thus here we are. I am ready to put This whole Maps situation behind and look forward. Are you?

    Sentiment: Buy

    • Hi adavidson... I could not agree more. I have used maps once since having an iPhone, and that was back when i had a 3gs. I really have not had the need to use it. I dont travel much and know my way around perfectly. I have no need for a maps app. And if i did need it, i would use my car navigation anyway. What is the big deal? And that person who ended up in the jungle or rainforest, they should have figured that when they began to see lots of trees, no paved roads, monkeys, pythons and no traffic control devices, and oh no other cars, buildings, houses or a local 7-11 convenience store, that heck maybe they should stop and turn back around. LOL. What a crock story.

    • oakey doeky let's look forward together, davidson.

mobile app maps are expected to change our entire way of life dramatically in the future.

Businesses and advertisers are already using location and mapping apps for promotional ads. Jackson of IDC said there will be other “futuristic instances” in which businesses and advertisers can find ways to use consumer data to try to generate sales, essentially by knowing “what they bought and where you are standing.”

Google may have an edge in this battle, in the wake of the Apple map-gate and given its strong position in mobile computing.

      Sentiment: Strong Buy
