My friend in Rockville, MD went to three different stores in the state to buy a mac. It is sold out everywhere. What I hear is almost all apple products are sold out and the retail stores are waiting for fresh supply. The guys who sold to take advantage of a few bucks in taxes want to get back in cheap. The shorts and mean-spirited no-name analysts are spamming to get the price lower. They almost sold out in China and Hongkong and pretty much everywhere else as the other analyst said. Who wants a samsung when you can get a iPhone or iPad for pretty much the same price. People want the best stuff that includes the best stock.
Good luck to all longs.

Not sold out, practically no stock to begin with. There have been virtually NO iMacs available for the entire quarter since their introduction, and zero availability of the previous models. This is likely Apple's worst product transition in over a decade in terms of product availability. With the exception of a handful of pre-orders filled, there has simply been no inventory of the new iMacs for the quarter and none of the previous models, save for the occasional refurbs from Apple's online store.
Simply stated: you can't buy a Mac, because for three months now there haven't been any to buy.
Of course you can buy a Mac....I bought one ........and when I was shopping I saw others buying Macs as well. You know not of what you speak..
Sentiment: Buy
I have to laugh when they mention Hong Kong, google Apple stores in Hong Kong they only have 3 stores in Hong Kong. Also anyone that beleives they sold apple stock because of tax purposes while the market was riding up needs to re-evaluate their think. Apple never sold off for tax reasons, there are other reasons why Apple sold off and its probably because they were over priced and investors see apple has to much competition and will need to lower their pices on there goods to be competitive.
Samsung is much closer to market saturation in smart phones than AAPL
If that were true then why didn't the market sell-off Samsung as well?
Well you got to examine your head. A lot of investors held apple for so many years. A lot of the big time investors lik Ramney were holding it for more than 5 years. Most of them thought the capital gains taxes were going up to 39.6 percent compared to 15. They all sold out because of that. The stock is not expensive by any method of valuation. Their international growth has just begun. Be long, or wait for everybody to sell all bonds and jump into stocks and get crushed being short. Your choice.
