You know, that's not such a bad idea. Apple SHOULD buy Comcast .... then, they can fire all those mgmt dicheads, replace all the DVR's with Apple iTV boxes, speed up my Internet connection, replace Comcast's #$%$ expensive Pay-Per-View pgm's with Apple-supplied a-la-carte pgm's from Netflix, and lower my monthly cable fee !!
Now, that's what I'M talkin' 'bout ........
I think Cook said all the right things. He was very bullish on the future. Whats he supposed to say? "We will do anything Mr Einhorn wants us to do" ? Apple is not going to be bullied by anyone. They do things on their own time and have a master plan. Also Apple never announces new products at these kind of events.
Trouble is - Cook isn't credible in what he says. He gets up and slings this false bravado. Heck it took Apple took two years to come out with a rather disappointing iphone 5 and a refresh of the mac line, all the while claiming apple was developing all sorts of innovating products. At the same time, Samsung was taking over market share in leaps and bounds with no response from Apple. Cook is slinging more bravado now, instead of taking on the critics with realistic comments. There is no sign of Apple answering the competition with innovative products. It is becoming very ordinary.
I am losing money on my investment so far for 5 months. He is doing a terrible job and needs to be fired. Majority of longs agree. Time to fire people.....they need to feel the pain we have felt. We are the owners of this company...not that gay elite smuck.
APPL is in a much better position now than it was couple of years ago. CNBC informercial with constant rumors , gossip and insinuations are giving a very gloomy picture for AAPL and Cook.
This idiots should be investigated by SEC for using their power to influence naive investors.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Apple needs a visionary.... Tim Cook is a fabulous manager and makes a tremendous COO, but he is not the CEO a shining beacon such as Apple deserves. Apple should acquire Tesla and with it get Elon Musk ... a visionary and dynamic entrepreneur
I don't think we know the inside story. It's one thing criticizing a CEO based on what we know from the outside and how the stock performs. So I myself get angry seeing a stock fall the way it did. 40% is not a normal drop! But then again the stock has exponentially risen. But when it falls like that, people lash out at guess who? The CEO. It's normal not illiterate. I do recognize that Cook has to deal with internal issues, suppliers and a pretty creative group of people that must pump out insane innovation. What I think he has not shown yet, I say yet, is that he can bring his team to a revolutionary new product. But give him time I think he will.
