The Cash Is THE Thing Cookie

It may soon approach 50% of market cap, if there's another big rip down. If that's allowed to happen the current Board and Cook will be history because then a consortium of PE or LBO can do a 50% self-financing take out and get that cash mountain moving.

How long can Cook keep control? Its ticking.

Better throw down a good Q for the report in about 60 days...

    • 50% of market cap will be a long ways. 2013 looking to barely hit 40 EPS. 2015 looking closer to 30/share in EPS. Margin erosion is about to hit overdrive. Cook just wasn't the right guy to steer the ship after all. Apple is a value trap here

      • Say cash builds to 175 billion. It's probably at least 145 right now, so not that far away, maybe before year end. If share price goes down to $375 or so then you're at 50% cash value of market value.

Granted, thats a long way down but the stock was at $435 not that long ago.

I agree looks like Street is taking 2014 & 2015 numbers way down, maybe why AAPL doesn't want to do a special dividend or greatly increase the regular dividends. At least, that's what they seem to be signalling right now.
