ITV will be a console only (no SCREEN). Completely wireless including the power cable..
Why would apple take the low margin of having a physical screen when it could attract millions more users to its IOS platform by just doing a console that incorporates cable or Sat, IOS, & gaming? Instead of the 1500 dollar price range, it could sell these in line with the iphone (500 without a tv contract, 200 with a tv contract).. It will have SIRI, Motion sensor, and have wireless technology that limits wires. It may even run off the invisible charger that Apple has a patent for.. TVs are a low margin business which Apple doesn't do.. I am officially ending all speculation that apple will make an actual TV and it will instead perfect the console...
Smartphones and tablets are also low-margin businesses. Apple has found a way to manage around that. Don't underestimate their ability to know how to make big margins in ANY industry or product category.
That would be much more consistent with AAPL's approach.
The seemingly apathetic pace at which AAPL is working to achieve this possible product release is eroding the confidence of investors and tarnishing what was the perception of AAPL's leadership in innovation.
Something needs to change, and quickly
I have been running a mac-mini as my home theater system for two years now. Best entertainment value going. In essence it turn my samsung hdtv into a 46" ipod with internet, youtube, netflix etc. Not much of a technological stretch to incorporate cable box port and functionality and attach it to a screen.
The best ITV already exists.
