HTC Launches New Smartphone With "BlinkFeed" On Android Jelly Bean
"Competition in the smartphone space, once dominated by Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL), intensified Tuesday after handset maker HTC launched its latest smartphone, the HTC One. Much about the phone has already been leaked, but at least in terms of looks the phone has received positive reviews.
HTC's phone is as much an attack on Samsung as Apple, but both smartphone makers could be affected if HTC is successful in getting back in the game, which so far it hasn't been able to do in a meaningful way.
In terms of the user experience, HTC is differentiating itself with a technology it calls BlinkFeed, which merges content from up to 1400 different sources into a single active feed.
The phone features a 4.7-inch full HD 1080p display and runs on Android Jelly Bean. It will be begin selling starting in March."
