Lets be realistic about aapl stock bears and bulls! I guarantee its not going to fly up anytime soon. Everyone is waiting for either better results than they have reported recently or a new product which all are coming out mid year June time frame or later, or a stock split which is very very unlikely. They may announce the buy back but I doubt they are doing that real soon. They made it very clear they could give a #$%$ about the stock. They are focused on new product development and right or wrong, the stock is going no where until they announce these things later this year. I confidently sold my shares and will be waiting to buy back later this year. I love aapl and do expect great things and a high stock price but just not soon.
I agree. I think even when a new product or new category is launched, it will be over analyzed for profitability and sales and how it will effect the stock price...There will be plenty of time to get back in when the time is right. There won't be a +$25 day even then. I see later this year when they do launch new products the stock rising slowly over many many weeks and eventually exceeding $600+ but not until last quarter or so. Right now being on the sidelines seems the least risky with such a narrow trading range.
Doesn't matter what they do... 360$ is where it’s going... Then dead money for a long time. Day traders will make a $ here and there, but aapl will be trading the same way as msft has been for the last 10 years.
Sentiment: Strong Sell
presently, there are approximately 1,985 institutional holders or 64% of shares. At the end of Dec 2012 institutions bought additional 65million shares in the $500 and up pps range. do you think these institutions are willing to sell at considerable loss. this will trade sideways until some losers get them out of the predicament they got themselves in. would be nice if there is consolidated data on the cost basis of shares that these institutions are holding. billions of investment sitting idle in the sideline and not making money for them.
Exactly. These newbies think there is going to be a v shaped recovery with dividend increase or special dividend. All that will do is cement AAPL as a value stock.
