All phone sales "tumble" at Verizon and everywhere in US. The quarter they compare with was a Christmas quarter. Don't believe everything that is written by others -- everybody have their agenda. The same article could've been titled -- year-over-year sales of iPhone at Verizon is soaring.
While Verizon activated 4 million iPhones in the quarter, up from 3.2 million in the year-ago quarter, it said that half of those activations were for older, cheaper iPhones. Apple shares have been sliding on fears of weakening demand for the iPhone.
On the plus side for Apple, though, its share of Verizon's smartphone activations rose to 56 percent from about 51 percent in the year-ago quarter, according to Guggenheim's Yin.
"To Apple's credit the iPhone continues to gain share" at Verizon Wireless, Yin said.
There is nothing bad about the Verizon IPhone sales for the first quarter. I was pleasantly surprised by the results. The first quarter always tanks versus the December QTR, because it is off of the Holiday Season you numbskulls. Verizon IPhone Sales were UPPPPPPP 25% on a comparable year over year basis. F'n BS tabloid internet news.
