    does mean they will do it and their present plan is to do it over much time. The increased dividend means nothing. The next time AAPL issues a dividend, note the equal drop in share price. If you don't realize this, you don't understand how dividends effect share price. Most dividends are so small a percentage that the drop in price is hardly noticeable, but even the current dividend, when it is received, is very noticeable in the share price
