Can somebody explain what does that mean when applied to Apple iPhone vs. competition. All I hear is that competitions is catching up, but do they really? I don't think so. Before iPhone, I used to have Windows 6 phone from Samsung (Omnia II). Great screen (way better specs than iPhone), faster CPU, louder speakers, etc. What a piece of garbage that was! Scratched easily, hard buttons stopped working, software was #$%$. That only became fully evident after I switched to iPhone.
no doubt aapl products are better than completion. I love aapl products. but the stock is broke because the company has lost the ability to grow. They can sell products at about the same pace for a long time to come, but they cannot grow. WS pays up for growth.
So, no specifics from critics -- just like I expected.
Here is Apple's innovations 2013:
1. Cool designs of 5C -- good enough for teens and young adults again.
2. No lag and a lot of cool graphics in iOS 7: due to faster CPU.
3. 64-bit mobile CPU -- first ever. More RAM to come. Meanwhile still faster.
4. Mobile co-processor -- running sensors all the time on low power
5. Fingerprint sensor that actually works and looks good. (Opens the door for mobile payments, Apple-style). (How is that NFC based payments going in US)?
There is a reason I mentioned designs first and hardware later. As far as handhelds go -- look and feel is everything. Paper specs are nothing.
China is a huge market, but most Chinese cannot afford iPhone. Or Samsung. Or Nokia. They primarily buy native cheap phones. If a well-to-do Chinese decides to buy a smart phone, they are not going to give preference to a $300 vs $700 device. They will buy the coolest and most reliable.
it didn't take a year.
look the phone has a plastic case
other than that it's the iphone 5
so how could it cost more than 100 less?
they could save more but they would need to get rid of stuff... like 2 cameras.
if they did that they would be bashed anyway
this company mints money and gets no credit
if i were the board i would figure out a way to take them selves private and pay everyone MILLIONS
Apple is so far behind. They are very good at marketing when they launched the ipods which sony and microsoft dropped the ball with. Google/Samsung/Motorola hands down are so far superior, just try it and see.
I have a Samsung galaxy s3 and it is a piece of junk. Have it only because of the larger screen. It misses calls regularly, doesn't notify me of messages until a couple of days later. When I go in to retrieve messages it doesn't always have all of them there for me to hear. The messages are there but not accessible. I have a fairly large stake in apple.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
