A fingerprint scanner is.... Samsung has gotten way too much applause for out innovating Apple. Honestly, I almost hope Apple doesnt go much larger than 4.5 inches. Why? Because they do not need to for a truly great phone experience. I would prefer they go by way of leveraging their motion sensor chip and fingerprint for health, for payment, etc.
All you crying about a bigger phone are way too short sighted for guys like Ive and Cook. Samsung was a gimmick that worked for a year. Slow and steady wins the race. I have my money with Apple
Apple could not match the quality and technology for bigger screens, Samsung rules the larger screens.
95% of Apple users wanted bigger screens, Apple's boat has been left at the dock. China Mobile will not buy what they can't sell, even BlackBerry looks better to them than Apple.
I agree, but what they can do is just expand the width of the phone by 1/4 " and just use more of the top area that has the camera and speaker as the glass screen. That will add a couple square inches, but will not make the phone too large to where you cannot manipulate it with 1 hand. I love using just my left hand, and thumb, and not two hands when scrolling through websites before I go to sleep.
I am not saying a larger screen wouldnt be compelling. I'm more so arguing that a larger screen by Samsung wasnt innovation. Come out with something that changes people's lives, like payment via fingerprint and we're onto something.
Remember, to Federighi's point..... New is easy to do. Anyone can do New. "Right" is very hard to do. The fingerprint scanner is right. It works perfectly. It is not a gimmick, like half the #$%$ on the new Galaxy that barely works. Everything on the 5s, including size is right
