The only thing that will move this PPS up is increased manufacturing capacity. PERIOD!!!
Until they can prove they can satisfy 5S demand and have the manufacturing capacity to handle China the street sees this operating at 100% or no upside.
DEAL WITH IT!!!
It's a fact you don't create manufacturing capacity for peaks. You build inventory with existing capacity before launch (they did), create manufacturing capacity to manage throughput at optimal levels (Cook is an expert in this area and there are many factors to consider, managing backlog is only one variable). If they built manufacturing capacity to the level you're suggesting, what do they do with that extra capacity after the initial slug of demand is done? It's wasted/inefficient money .... There's an optimal (max profit) where this can be obtained. IMO having a temporary backlog of a couple weeks does not justify the money to increase capacity that will only sit idle after a few months.
I 100% agree.... But ask yourself if that's true how are you going to handle the millions upon millions of added customers should you add China Mobile?
And everyday you wait a potential customer gets turned on to the gimmick of the week like a curved screen from Samsung... Just a fact.
Go into any AT&T store or Verizon and ask the sales associate, "have you had any customer choose an Android device because of the wait for the 5S?" No matter how small the number, it's lost sales.
They are losing sales to their lack of manufacturing capacity. It's a fact. And this board thinks China mobile is the answer.... Silly.
