    I think

    IF apple exec's had any brains they'd but Blackberry for at least two reasons. One) to keep it or any part of it out of competitor hands,,,two) keep the blackberry name and company separate and sell $ 50.00(or $30.00) cell phones at break even this way no competitor sellimg at the botton end of the market could ever make a reasonable profit/ Thus low end producers couldn't use the masses to eventually enter the premium market...

    That is how microsoft took the pc market; gates took the low end market first of vourse he had the OEM sign a contract for the cheap price which stated if the OEM wanted to use to sell PC's with other operating systems they still have to pay gate for that PC too.
