You're not from Philadelphia by chance. WhenI I lived in PHL Frank Rizzo was Police Chief and then Mayor. I think he did pretty well in both positions but he had to work with Bill Meehan and his organization.
I had to look it up.
3. What does a board of directors do?
Corporate boards select, appoint, and review the performance of the chief executive and other key executives. They determine the direct compensation and incentive plan for these executives; ensure the availability of financial resources; review and approve annual budgets and company financials; and approve strategic decisions.
I believe they should be sued for incompetence.
You know I really don't know. Never been invited to an AAPL Board meeting. Maybe you've been there and had a chance to see what he brings to the party. My own impression is that Al Gore has been very successful as a businessman. I believe his companies recently sold off some media assets for millions in profits. Maybe you have done that in your career- I haven't. Unless you're operating at the billion dollar level, I think it's pretty difficult to measure the contribution by any single member of the BOD. GLTA
Jobs put him there when Jobs believed that Al (rub my tummy) Gore would be President one day. The question is: Why is Gore STILL there given the fact that he has become a stupid weatherman/Hollywood hypocrite
The truth is, Apple executive ranks has become just another closed-door fat cat insider's club, like every OTHER insider's club. This is what brought Apple down before, btw ..... all the way to the brink of bankruptcy ..... before they brought Jobs BACK (after firing him years earlier) t SAVE their fat cat ship of state.
Moral to this story ..... history indeed DOES repeat itself.
You must have missed what Cook said in his holiday letter to employees. I'll restate. Apple is laser-focused in their support of environmental causes. That translates clearly to more profits each and every year. Plus the support of LGBT rights. It's all a very well thought out master plan to get more environmentalist and LGBTs to buy Apple products or work there. That's a hugely underserved demographic. I wonder if there is an LGBT ap?
