Holding short term options is vaguely insane unless you have a good idea of market direction in the immediate future. Best thing to do is buy LEAPS when the stocks near what you consider its floor value for the quarter, and hope that the ongoing news is good.
You buy "in the money" long term LEAPs on the bull side, you got a year and a half minimum until expiration for cheap nothing. Look at the $500's. Got until Jan 2016 and they still only have a tiny time premium compared to short term options. Best way to get ini on a LONG term value increase rather than a monthly swing trade.
