After close of the market on Fri. Russell will release additions/deletions to the 2000 index. If Rockwell is deleted, there could be a large drop ion the stock price as the index funds are forced to rebalance and sell their Rockwell shares.
My hope is the index funds already know what the market cap. requirements will be to remain in the index and have sold their shares already, if we are going to exit the index. Otherwise it could get very ugly as millions of shares have to be sold.
I believe this continues to be an overhang on the stock. I pray it is a non-issue.
Very unlikely it will drop immediately, in the past Russel 2000 deletion will have negligible impact on short term, so the impact will happen only after a month or few weeks from the actual disolution.
After the last issuance of shares we have about 40 mio shares outstanding and a market cap of about 160 mio usd. I don't think that there is a reason to be deleted - look at the market caps the other companies at position 1500-2000 at Russel2000.
