I am considering Sapient for my next career move
and am curious about the firm's culture. Is it really
as 'balance between work and life' oriented as it
sounds or am I going to end up working such heinous
hours that my cat won't recognize me anymore because I
am never home. What is the typical work week (in
hours)? Do people burn out and quit after a year? Also,
what are the managers like? Do they tend to
micro-manage, or do they tend to treat people with basic
professional respect and allow you to do your job?
I agree with you and I feel this is a great price
to get in.
If one were to compare SAPE's
Revenue and its growth with other companies in the same
(web service) sector, and compare the prices...SAPE is
really cheap.
According to Lehman the price of
web service stocks should be calculated by 10 times
the revenue. Based on that I calculate that Sapient's
market cap should be about 2.4B (SAPE is generating
about 60-70% of revenue from E Commerce).
Now if
SAPE keeps on delivering the way they have done till
now..No doubt we will reach this valuation very quickly.
SAPE round 60 got two buy ratings:
Paine Webber
JC Bradford
The reason for the drop is to allow a good entry point for some investers and to clear stop loss orders.
Good luck.
Just curious if you took a position at Sapient, and if so, what you think.
I am buying on every dip.
When you here buy low and sell high, this is it.
Good luck
I have been following this stock for quite awhile
and have invested in it also. Can't help but be
disturbed, it seems to be approaching its bottom support
very quickly. Hopefully it will approach its top.
It seems to have broken its pattern of following the
NASDAQ, however, to some level of comfort, SAPE has
frequently reacted opposite to the market. Investors dump
small caps and invest back into the blue chips, Cisco,
Lucent types.
Lets see.....
Check out CHRZ. Bottomed out today. E business growing 100% this year. Only 13.75. 620 million in sales this year. eom
I'd sure like to know what it
says...
Regardless, I think it's a bit premature to panic based on a
few days of drops. Sape has been a relatively
volatile stock since its IPO, so this drop isn't that
unusual. Seems like a good buying opportunity.
All employees at Sapient have stock options. This
is where the greatest ammount of their wealth
building opportunity exists, NOT in the ESPP.
Like
all companies, employees frequently leave when the
stock price tanks, because there are better
opportunities elsewhere.
Dont believe this happens? Well
look at managements behaviour... ask your friends why
there is an internal e-mail floating around with pleas
for people not to panic?
The ESPP sets the strike price at the lower of the close on 1/1/99 or 7/1/99. On 1/1/99, was near 55. I'm sure the employees are trilled to see the price drop down to those levels!
EOM
complaining. I read in past msgs that there is some sort of stock plan (ESPP) that locks in a price each 6 months.
If I had that, I would be happy the price dipped (on cue I would say).
