Not going to happen. Canadian Government is not likely allow foreign ownership control. But we might see a minority ownership by a big oil company, industry consolidation, joint ventures. I think PWE shareholders will benefit in whatever happens.
obviously something is up and we will all find out later, so far appears to be good news.
maybe build a refinery close to the oil shale and can the pipeline to the gulf where it can be shipped away!
or maybe it is china again
watch that volume while gas and oil prices go down and PWE goes up . hmmm
Would not say never. My guess is Canda will only oppose a takeover from asia or european oil companies spopnsered by their government like CNOOC or Statoil. Exxon, Royal dutch shell any of the majors I doubt would be opposed and you have large Canadain companies that might have an interest like SUNCOR, Husky, CNQ or Cenevous.
That is the stated position of the Canadian gov't, but would they stand by while the company continues a downward spiral until bankrupt? I doubt it. The assets have to be managed and if these guys cannot do it, someone else will step up to do it for them. Too much potential value for the Canadian government to just let things slide. Someone will raise the value of PWE. BTW I am long 52K shares.
