Gold in its sights Wednesday, September 07, 2005 Paul Sullivan
VANCOUVER (GlobeinvestorGOLD) - All that glisters is not just gold. Sometimes its silver.
On that premise, Silver Wheaton Corp. is built. The Vancouver-based company bills itself as the only mining company in the world that gets 100 per cent of its revenue from silver, as if thats a good thing. Maybe it is. Silver is trading over $7 (U.S.), carried on the back of soaring gold prices, caused mainly by anxiety over the devastation caused by hurricane Katrina. And Silver Wheatons numbers look good - net earnings for the second quarter, ending June 30, 2005 were $6.7-million or 4 cents a share from the sale of 2.7 million ounces of silver.
