i'm almost certain it'll close RED tommorrow!
i'm almost certain it'll be about $30-31 by options expiration next friday.
i'm long-term bullish on silver and SLW, but technicals are way over-extended, and the earnings were essentially in-line ($0.01 EPS beat ain't too much given the delayed sales and big revenue miss).
they've maintained guidance for full year production, and now the market has to hope they sell the excess production that didn't occur in Q3 over in Q4.
you guys are morons if you think this is going to $38 or some number higher than today's close.
SLW NAV (net asset value) assuming a price deck of $21 silver for next year is around $17 or $18 USD---given the fact that its a premier growth name in the sector, you can arguably apply a 2X multiple on that NAV, and you'd get a $34-36 USD price target by END OF NEXT YEAR assuming silver averages around $21 or 22/oz over the WHOLE 2011!
And you better hope the mines they're invested in ramp up on pace and they are able to sell the excess production in Q4.
thank god i bought some puts today and yesterday (i thought i was gonna get killed, but now i'll be 'oprah rich' by friday on these puts).
sounds like a good strategy you got.
yes, short-term, this mornings $37 was a top.
so you'll have opp's in the coming weeks to buy some SLW back, likely in the high $20s.
and i'm sure you'll make out just fine long-term.
GL my friend!
Well...not enough time to read all the new posts on this thread since last night.. Personally, I don't think I was one of the people who were trashing your post last night. That said...Good call on your post.
I still think this stock will do ok vs. the market long-term.
Best of luck...
Certainly not you!!
You got a bluebird with that call, dude!
If CME didn't step in to help their pals at JPM and HSBC, you'd have been buried!!
Please tell me your charts knew that CME was going to intervene this afternoon.
Also notice they only targeted SILVER, even though cotton, and other commodities, have blown the roof off.
Oh, JPM and HSBC
are NOT short cotton - hmmmmm.....
Your charts predicted Crimex would increase margins by 30% during the middle of the trading day? Taking credit for something you had nothing to do with? Piker. You should feel very lucky Mr Market blessed you with this great opportunity. Gloating is amateurs bro.
How's that working out for you?
there is only 3 things you have to know to trade for a living.
the day's high, the day's low
and the day's close! never fight the trend, and always set a 7 or 8% stop to prevent a big
loss. Everthing you need to know is in the PRICE. This advice has never let me down.
So young and so clueless. Posting on Yahoo will not make SLW go down. The big buyers of silver are in Asia and the Middle East. SLW is a leveraged play on silver. You want to take SLW down? Go post on an Arabic, Chinese, or Indian web site.
you still don't get it do you?
You might do yourself a real service by reading about the history of silver and all of it's glorious uses and the fact that it has been used as real money for at least 5000 years.
What do you think is happening at the FED right now? they are devaluing the US Dollar by printing more and more every second of every day.
Commodities my boy, commodities!
This is really funny watching these shorts getting destroyed. Its their own fault. Some people will never get it. However, I did not think it would be here already! lol. This is great! Kinda sucks thinking about the reason we are here at this price, but none the less, its good to keep up and way surpass inflation. Wouldnt be anywhere else! Lets have another great day tomorrow longs! BTW, can anyone believe the volume today?? Crazy! Awesome!
Good one. Haven't you been following the JPM and HSBC silver price manipulation lawsuits? This quick rise in silver futures are big banks slowly and quietly covering their large short positions. If even the slightest evidence is found that JPM and HSBC manipulated silver prices, the US government could throw the RICO act at them since manipulation is illegal and affects interstate and/or foreign commerce. Now that could mean criminal charges as well.
Two months ago, I bought SLW Jan 12 35 calls because of numbskulls like you that just got a PAY CUT courtesy of crazy Uncle Ben.
Economics 101. The more dollars (or anything), the less they're worth. Not hard.
