Ok everyone. He's correct in that some firms are showing the estimate at .35
Schwab also shows that number with the high, as he says of .84
That being said, I have no doubt that that estimate is an ERROR.
NO ONE would be estimating that SLW was going to earn .84 for the quarter. Obviously they mistakenly added the yearly estimate to the quarterly estimate, which skews the number bigtime.
I have no doubt it is actually .30
If he wants to believe different, that is his problem
Correct...earnings met expectations.
Cash flow, however, is up huge. As well, actual metal production is up.
I cannot tell if they are raising expectations or not on the rest of the year. Going to have to listen to the call.
Wrong, it beat as the consensus was .30. From Schaeffers:
Commodity concern SLW is also just hours away from its fourth-quarter announcement, and analysts are bracing for a profit of 30 cents per share. SLW is on a losing streak, having fallen short of consensus bottom-line expectations in each of the past three quarters. Nevertheless, traders have favored bullish bets in recent weeks. During the past 10 days, speculators on the International Securities Exchange (ISE), Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), and NASDAQ OMX PHLX (PHLX) have bought to open 2.67 calls for every put on SLW.
