    It is assumed that you mean curcumin and not "cumin". Curcumin is a root (rhizoid) and "cumin" is a seed that can be ground into a powder. Cumin, when ground, has an olive-green color. Curcumin is a bright yellow powder. But both originate in the same part of the world.
