“…if the Iranis were actually enriching to the weapons grade 95% level, there would be no way to hide it. …”
It does seem very suspicious that the “trust but verify” strategy is completely absent from any news reports. You would think that this would be the first thing to request of Iran because if they refused it would definitely indicate that they were hiding their true intentions. What is most disturbing is that normally intelligent public discussions on this aspect are an elephant in the room residing in complete silence, indicating that such discussion is censored to favor a war option.

That was one of the big issues when dealing with Iraq under Saddam Hussein that was reported on daily as inspectors were dispatched to various locations there to inspect suspected nuclear sites. They never found anything.
This is not to minimize the lack of freedom the Iranian people are experiencing under a theocracy, but that should be up to them to free themselves by installing new leaders.
The following is a link to an Internet site that discusses the “trust but verify” strategy with Iran, but provides little information on negotiations to implement it, maybe because they are non-existent.

Within is the following statement: “…And it could not work unless Iran accompanied freezing enrichment with the implementation of the Additional Protocol to the Non-Proliferation Treaty which includes random spot-checks by United Nations-mandated inspectors. …”
So this far down the road and all of the talk is about the military option rather than moving forward discussions about random spot-checks of nuclear facilities.

On the other hand, Iran is a Sovereign amongst Sovereigns and instead of replying to meddlers that have no authority, they are in essence saying, "Mind your own business and quit sticking your nose where it doesn't belong."
