OT: Just how much money has U.S. Treasury Secretary, Jack Lew, stolen?

Well, perhaps "stolen" is too strong of a word. Perhaps "confiscated" would work better. More to the point, Jack Lew has frozen total (officially reported) U.S. debt at $16.738 trillion since May 17th. Lew has admittedly grabbed money from government pension accounts as well as other accounts to pay for ongoing government functions. Once a new debt limit is in place, all these confiscated funds will be returned to where they belong. The moment the debt ceiling is raised, we should see our total debt rise by $400-600 billion immediately. Nothing like zooming past that $17 trillion milestone in a flash!

The Federal Reserve magically creates money. The U.S. Treasury magically freezes debt growth. The way I see things....everything is good. The government has our backs. And our government officials are the best magicians in the history of the world! I think I'll be able to sleep easy tonight.
