Something that can be found in abundance more valuable than PMs
This is a free online book copywrited in 1960. It is a biography of a mining engineer and his discoveries , many of which were in Nevada silver mines, which disputed some aspects of the hydrologic cycle. Stephen Reiss was educated in Switzerland where, among his professors was Albert Einstein, a claim you won’t find in the book. Reiss also proposed his water prospecting techniques as an alternative to those of Newholland’s aqueduct proposals, but California politicians at the time, corrupt as much then as they are today, showed no interest.
Can you imagine what that would mean today, considering drought conditions and energy costs, since the wells Reiss created were under high pressure requiring no pumping action and had much higher purity than aqueduct water.
