    distribution announcement?

Shouldn't we expect to see an announcement about next Friday?

    • If MVO is true to form from the last six or so quarters, I would expect to see the announcement on Monday 11th or Tuesday 12th. But we could get it Friday, that is not outside the realm. Nice write-up in Seeking Alpha, though I am not sure why the writer thinks BPT will pay higher than MVO going forward. The stated logic that MVO's fields are in more remote places (than ALASKA!) and therefore more expensive to service is not particularly compelling.

      • The Seeking Alpha article sounds like a journalism major was handed a project to writeup, didn't understand the subject matter, didn't understand the industry, but wrote it up anyway. Lists BHP as being able to last 50 years when, through depletion, declining production rates and increasing costs, BHP will be lucky to last 10 years. And I still don't get the whole MVO fields in remote areas thing. MVO oil fields are in Kansas and Oklahoma I believe and have been producing since 1909 when the fields were owned by Occidental Petroleum. When I look at the map it seems that the BHP fields in the North slope of Alaska are a little more remote. The problem with Seeking Alpha is that any yahoo can post an article.

    • Yes, expect MVO to rally for next week in anticipation of announcement. Should be another wild ride like the last quarter.

      • Given where oil is against where it was last time a distribution was calculated, and then the loss of the artificial cap from the hedges, and we have the potential for this to rocket upward.

How many folks not paying much attention are going to get whiplash when the distribution is announced? A bunch I predict.
