Dividends are a big plus for long term investors

The steady dividend payments prevented me from selling this cfe. It makes it much easier to hold the security in a down of flat market.

    • So right! For income investors like myself IGD is ideal. I also own AGD, COY, CSQ, EOI, GAB, GDF and IGD. So enjoy the dips (buy more) and spend the dist. and smell the roses!!!

      • jl...no doubt...I made the mistake of selling (instead of buying) when sh%t hit the fan in Q408 but thats 20-20 hindsight...sold the wrong investments coz every one of my other equity holdings has slashed (or cancelled) their divs except ING...I've since rebought IGD, IGA, and added IAE (and considering IID)...had I have kept my original shares and added or doubled down when the sky was falling I'd have approx 12,000 shares and a nice monthly stipend (instead of half that amount now coupled with a big cap loss in 08)...but buyer beware, these investments can turn sour in a NY minute if they slash the div...hopefully the mgmt can keep doing what they are doing and churning out that monthly cash to investors...your point is well taken...glta!
