I have thought about your post, it seems to me that the outlay to attract so few Telsa drivers, that it wouldn't make financial sense. Now if Telsa were to pay for the entire charging station and it represented zero cost to Safeway, then let iit roll. Just read about a company in England that was in the recharging business, needless to say they went belly up. They thought they had the best idea since gas stations, but the public didn't bite.
Great idea, how much electricity would Safeway be paying for? Seems to me that would reduce the profit pretty well along with the folks that just decided to charge their batteries and shop somewhere else.
SWY could offer up the parking lot space for 1 or 2 supercharging stations and Tesla could pay for the charging equipment and the electricity used. It would be great for both companies plus the Tesla car owner who gets the convenience of 20 minute full battery charging while shopping at SWY.
