Two Neuberger Berman Closed-End Funds Announce Adjournment of Joint Special Meeting of Stockholders to Vote on Proposed Merger Monday January 28, 8:00 am ET
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Neuberger Berman Realty Income Fund Inc. (NYSE: NRI - News) and Neuberger Berman Real Estate Securities Income Fund Inc. (AMEX: NRO - News) (each a Fund and together, the Funds) announced the adjournment of their joint special meeting of stockholders because the proposal to merge NRI with and into NRO had not yet received a sufficient number of affirmative votes from the stockholders of each Fund. The Funds have adjourned their meeting so that stockholders would have additional time to cast their votes. ADVERTISEMENT
The adjourned joint special meeting of stockholders will be held on February 7, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. For the merger to proceed, it must be approved by a majority of the outstanding shares of each Fund. As of the time of the stockholders meeting held on January 25, 2008, 47.5 % of NROs stockholders of record had voted in favor of the merger, and 43.7 % of NRIs stockholders of record had voted in favor of the merger.
Georgeson Inc. has been retained by the Funds to make phone calls to help secure the remaining votes needed to approve the merger. Stockholders who have already voted do not need to recast their votes.
