YAHOO DIVIDEND NUMBER
Why does yahoo post a $.09 dividend with a 2.9% yield when it is $.02 a month which is $.24 which creates a yield of over 6%? They have it wrong for months now........This stock has been a pleasure to own for the last 18 months.

This topic comes around every few months. The answer is that a bunch of that dividend is not income but return of capital.

Yes, but that has nothing to do with Yahoo. Yahoo is just screwed up, most of the issues they quote div yields on are wrong.

Why does Yahoo do anything? I find they are frequently wrong on div amounts and yields. You should be able to figure out that the true yield on NRO going forward is .0607 or approximately 6%. NRO should be yielding a lot more, the basket of REITS than NRO invests in have been increasing payouts lately, but for some reason, the increases haven't been being passed on.
