Is OTTR the power co. in Williston ND? I bought shares to take advantage of the growth in ND due to the shale oil boom. Pretty pricey for a utility.
It is obvious that the wind tower business is a money losing venture.
It seems that OTTR cannot cut it loose, perhaps because it is held hostage now by Bill Gates and company.
OTTR is now bleeding cash via DMI to further Bill Gates philanthropic vision. How funny is that?
The OTTR dividend is not safe. When it is cut, OTTR stock will fall.
Since I have bought in at $19 in September- up $3/share and a dividend.
Now the interim CEO is permanant and is an old XEL executive (I have a large position in XEL and would recommend that stock to anyone who likes dividends and stable positive stock charts).
let me know when they have "realligned their business model" from the Titanic.V1 to something more conservative/profitable and maybe I will buy a share or 2.
Gum pounder, nothing changes for you!
Unlike you, Otter Tail is re-aligning it's business model and making attempts to level the field in competition against China and Vietnam in the wind turbinge business!
The SEC 10Q shows Otter Tail Corp to be in very weak condition. NO CASH AT ALL at the end of year?!!! They are borrowing money on accounts receivable (factoring) to pay bills as they go!
Their construction in progress (Balance Sheet..Costs Incurred in Excess of Billings) shows a large debit receivable which means they can't bill out their costs incurred to date...and the question has to be: why not? Most companies bill out more than their work completed on percentage of completion contracts!
This is a basket case not a safe, sane utility!
Seeking Alpha recommended this stock for dividends and says...one of its competitiors is Catepillar, Inc!!!!!! must be a joke?
Certainly not a buy at this level. lol you guys!
Iam long, for the long term. I see the Upper Midwest in an upturn. Agriculture and natural resouces.
thinly traded stock for sure- but for the last several weeks the mkt disagrees with you.
Are you short OTTR?
Are you going to answer my question? And I also had family working there.
As you can see, no one really cares about OTTR anyway.
OTTR will likely continue to bleed cash, and lose money on its wind division.
Then, the dividend will have to be cut at some point. At that time, the stock price will go down.
JMHO.
deja vu dude- you asked this a month ago.
Was not me posting a month ago. Sure are a lot of people parinoid about this stock. Why? Can't they cover their dividend? Think I'll invest in Canada next. I like a beaver more than an otter.
